Privacy Policy

This policy describes how VaultPlayer (vaultplayer.co.uk), operated by JRE, handles information when you use the site.
Information we collect
- Device identifier — a random ID stored in your browser so we can recognise your device for library sync and diagnostics.
- Email address (optional) — only if you use Sync. We send a one-time magic link; we do not use passwords for Sync.
- Library data — favourites, playlists, continue watching, and recent searches you choose to save or sync. If you share a playlist, we store a snapshot of that list so the share code works.
- Technical logs — IP address (may be truncated or hashed), browser type, pages visited, and playback diagnostic events to keep the service running and fix errors.
What we do not collect
- Payment card or banking details — VaultPlayer does not process payments.
- Government ID, date of birth, or other KYC data.
- The contents of third-party video streams (we do not host media).
How we use information
- Provide Sync, continue watching, playlists, and favourites across devices.
- Secure playback sessions and prevent abuse (rate limits, session binding).
- Diagnose streaming and site errors.
- Send Sync sign-in emails.
Retention
Diagnostic and visitor logs are kept for a limited period (typically up to 90 days for visitor analytics and 30 days for playback logs). Playlist share snapshots expire 90 days after they were last published. Sync sessions and magic links expire automatically. You can stop Sync on a device at any time from the app or the Sync account page.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Metadata lookups use TMDB. Playback resolution contacts third-party stream providers configured server-side — those providers receive standard HTTP request data when a stream is fetched through our proxy.
Your choices
- Use the site without Sync (local-only library data on your device).
- Clear site data in your browser to remove local identifiers and preferences.
- Email us to ask about Sync data linked to your account.
